Online Counselling NZ

My name is Emma. I offer a free 20min 'meet and greet' session to give you an idea about whether I'm someone you want to work with.
My counselling approach is down to earth, initially inspired by my own mixed experiences when seeking support. I offer sensitive listening and non-judgemental, thoughtful, creative response. I am most interested in what being well means to you and how I can assist you to live in that space.

From time to time everyone finds themselves in difficult transitions, unexpected situations, facing illness or grief, feeling stuck, being overwhelmed by thoughts or emotions, or in unhelpful behavioural patterns.

Being accompanied through challenging times can make all the difference. My individual counselling sessions offer a safe and confidential space for you to explore your experiences. Together we set about coping with challenges, fostering healing and maintaining wellness.

People working with me bring a wide range of concerns including (but not limited to); life transitions, trauma, anxiety, depression, sexual abuse, domestic violence, existential crises, grief, chronic health issues etc.

I also work with older teenagers online but not those under 15 years of age (unless an adult accompanies them online).

I take a broadly humanistic approach and draw from models such as Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion-focused therapy, Non-violent communication and Solution-focused therapy.

If you want to knkow more or make an appointment, feel free to contact me.

Speaking with Emma each session allows me someone to vent to without any judgement
I am originally from NZ and moved overseas, so needed someone I could talk to online and who was happy to accommodate the different time zone. Emma was happy to do this for me.

I had never had any type of therapy/counseling before, I was nervous going into my first session. Emma immediately made me feel at ease and ready to spill all.

I am someone who keeps all my problems to myself, speaking with Emma each session allows me someone to vent to without any judgement. Even if I’m having a particularly good week, it’s still nice knowing she’s there to have a chat.

Since I have started seeing Emma there has been massive weight lifted off my shoulders now that I’m not bottling everything up.

Thank you Emma!

Emma was a patient and insightfull counselor
Emma was a patient and insightfull counselor who helped me and my husband get through some difficult times.
She was able to encourage us to connect and begin to see each other's point of view.
We are lucky to have found her ❤️

Emma has helped me a lot
Emma has listened and helped me a lot over the last few month, just to see things in a different perspective. She is also now helping me and myself to get past our differences and work on the future together. I have had a few counsellors over the year, but i must say Emma is very down to earth and a wonderful person to work with. I feel very understood and safe to talk about anything with her. Thank you Emma :-)

Emma has been incredible
Emma has been incredible with helping me work through my feelings and through my thoughts.
When I first started therapy, I was worried about how it would go, but after the first session with Emma, I knew that I wanted to continue.

The best thing I ever did for myself
Emma has helped me through many difficulties post partum and guided me through finally dealing with grief I had experienced during my teenage years. She has held space for me and allowed me to say the things that I was to scared to admit to myself or others in my life.

Getting help was the best thing I ever did for myself and Emma has been a big reason for that. She is kind, understanding, helpful, a great listener and has very useful advice for what ever situation I have found myself in.

A wonderful therapist
Emma is a wonderful therapist. She is always very patient and calming. She can pull out the deeper thoughts. She is kind and never makes me feel like I'm stupid for feeling any sort of way. But she also gently calls me out if I'm being unfair to myself or others! She a well rounded therapist and I'm really glad I found her.
