Introduction

My name is Melissa,

My counselling work with women is gentle, reflective, and centres on what matters most to you. Through careful listening and shared exploration (I'm naturally very curious!), I support you in making sense of your experiences, reconnecting with your values, and finding ways forward that feel authentic and manageable.

If you are looking for a steady, respectful space where your experiences are taken seriously and your voice is central, you're welcome here. I am always guided by what feels safest and most supportive for you. I practice person-centred and narrative therapy.

I became a counsellor to be the listener I always wanted throughout my life. It is a priveldge for me to find out more about you and the issues that have brougjht you to counselling. I work with women from all walks of life and issues

Specialisations and Expertises

Our first session will ascertain what issues need sorting through, establish goals (if any) and discuss expectations including duration of our time together.

Most common issues I support people with:

Adoption resulting in feelings of rejection and/or identity issues.

Loss/Grief of a loved one, pet or employment.

Church/Religious hurt and wanting to continue in their faith journey.

Domestic violence, for those who have left an abusive relationship and are in the beginning stages of rebuilding their life.

Family and friends of those who are incarcerated. Having family members or friends incarcerated can be a challenging time especially navigating the judgment from society and the people close to you.
