Are you a counsellor, psychotherapist, life coach or psychologist in New Zealand?

Kia ora! My name is Anna. I grew up in the northern German city of Kiel in a large, lively family. Being part of a big family taught me early about connection, individuality within community, and the complexity of relationships. From a young age, I’ve been driven by a strong sense of justice and a curiosity about people — their stories, struggles, and what shapes who they become or aspire to be.
At 23, I left Germany and spent several years in Spain before immigrating to New Zealand in 2018.
Living across different cultures has given me a deep appreciation for adaptation, resilience, and the ways our roots and experiences shape our sense of belonging. These experiences inform my understanding of identity and the questions we all carry about who we are and where we fit in.
I am a mother of three — a daughter at university, a son at high school, and a younger son at primary school — and a wife to my Kiwi husband. I am also a step-mum to his teenage boys, and cherish my roles as a daughter, sister, auntie, and friend. Motherhood is central to who I am, and I treasure every moment of it.
Outside of the counselling room, I enjoy spending time at the beach in all seasons — walking, swimming, or building sandcastles. I love reflective conversation and journaling, and I consider myself a lifelong learner, curious and open to growth both personally and professionally. People describe me as calm, patient, grounded, and warm — qualities that shape how I sit with others in both life and work. I value exploring meaning, purpose, and the deeper layers of human experience, and I approach all worldviews, religions, and beliefs with sensitivity and respect.
The core elements of my life — family, motherhood, and a genuine interest in people — shape the way I support others: with curiosity, steadiness, warmth, and care.
I believe counselling is not just about feeling better — it’s about becoming better at feeling. This often requires courage, honesty, and stepping outside your comfort zone. Facing discomfort can be challenging, and I will hold you and your emotions safely, patiently, and respectfully throughout the process.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Counselling and am a registered member of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors (NZAC). I practice under regular clinical supervision and abide by the NZAC Code of Ethics. I offer both in-person sessions in Titirangi Village and online counselling, working with adults and youth from all walks of life.
I provide individual counselling as well as whānau, couple, or relationship sessions if these support your process. Sessions can be short-term or long-term, tailored to your needs. I create a safe, confidential, and caring space where you are free to explore what you are carrying. My role is to walk alongside you, helping you uncover your inner strength and agency. I take a person-centred, collaborative approach, adapting interventions to what suits you best, because I believe you are the expert of your own life and already possess what it takes to heal.
