Therapy
Therapy offers a supportive space to explore your thoughts, emotions, and relationships. It’s an opportunity to gain insight into patterns that may be holding you back, and to begin the process of healing and personal growth.
About Me
I have 14 years of experience as a psychologist overseas, and over a year of experience providing therapy here in New Zealand. I support individuals of all ages who are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and a variety of life challenges.
I offer a warm, respectful space where clients can feel safe, heard, and understood. I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship and see counselling as a collaborative process that supports healing, insight, and personal growth.
Originally from Israel, I bring a deep understanding of cultural transitions, identity, and belonging. Having settled with my family in New Zealand, I also enjoy working with migrants, expats, and others navigating major life changes.
How I Work
I offer a warm, collaborative space and tailor therapy to each client’s needs. My approach is integrative and trauma-informed, drawing from:

Shlomit
I have 14 years of professional experience working in both educational settings and private practice, providing counselling, psychotherapy, and psychoeducational assessment. Since moving to New Zealand a year ago, I have continued offering therapy here and am a provisional member of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors (NZAC).
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Statistics, a Master of Arts in Social Psychology, and a specialist certification in Educational Psychology. I have also completed advanced training in psychotherapy, including a three-year psychoanalytic psychotherapy program, and further professional development in evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Interpersonal Therapy.
I work with individuals of all ages to navigate anxiety, depression, and life’s various challenges, offering support that is practical, collaborative, and tailored to each person’s needs. I also provide guidance to families to strengthen relationships and communication. My approach combines psychodynamic insights with evidence-based techniques to support meaningful growth and positive change.
I generally recommend weekly sessions to work intensively on the presenting concerns. For short-term support, noticeable improvements are often seen within 5–10 sessions, while more complex or long-standing challenges may benefit from longer-term therapy.
