I am a clinical psychologist with 29 years of experience, originally from South Africa and practicing as a clinical psychologist in New Zealand for the past six years.
I have worked in various fields in South Africa, including private practice, inpatient and outpatient mental health at a Psychiatric Hospital, and in Nuclear Safety and Security (including Human Factors work), before I relocated to New Zealand six years ago to pursue my passion for forensic psychology.
I am currently a Manager of Psychological Services at Ara Poutama Department of Corrections in Hamilton. I am doing private practice work on Fridays or some evenings if needed and plan to make The Tea House, 191 Peachgrove Road, Claudelands, Hamilton my "home" for this work.
I am not currently ACC registered, but am open to private referrals.
My interests include:
- Psycholegal / Forensic Psychology work (that does not constitute a conflict of interest, e.g. psychogeriatric assessments, fitness to stand trial, etc. No Family Court Cases)
- Problems with Mood -- Major Depression, Dysthymia, Bipolar Disorder, etc.
- Problems with Anxiety -- Panic Disorder, GAD, OCD, PTSD, etc.
- Intimacy issues, especially women's challenges (e.g., menopause, infertility, etc)
- Helping people discover and achieve their potential
- Supervision to other psychologists, including review of reports and psychometric measures
I am passionate about helping people and assist people to find the answers within themselves to achieve their potential.
